Make the most of coaching

Coaching can be a big boost to both your performance and job/life satisfaction. But before you start working with a coach, you need to ask yourself whether you’re ready to do the work.

Your Progress starts with you

To truly reap the benefits of coaching, you must be able to tolerate discomfort and be open to experimentation. You’ll need to proactively embrace new ways of behaving, even if these approaches don’t come naturally to you. You also need to be ready and willing to take responsibility for your shortcomings, rather than blaming. Deflecting responsibility will limit your growth; acknowledging your personal power over everything will help pave the way for your self-development and lead to growth and satisfaction.

It is essential to ask for support when you need it. You’ll progress faster if you make yourself vulnerable to others, including your partner, your boss, peers, and even direct reports. Share goals, ask for advice, listen with curiousity, and, most critically, accept and act on the constructive feedback your receive. Making sure you’re ready before engaging with a coach will help you get the most of the relationship. Choose a coach that has demonstrated the experience, skills, and abilities you are looking to seek within your own self, habits, and behaviours.

Gone are the days where leaders can afford the luxury of staying conservative. As a business leader in today’s world, you must be passionate, visionary, understanding, and possess values such as inclusion and empathy. Leadership starts at self, having the skills to lead and give direction in your own life is the first step in demonstrating to others your authenticity and pro-active action.

Cohesion, collaboration, and accountability are key to building strong, productive, and efficient teams. Your company relies and thrives on well-adjusted individuals. I work with CEOs, leaders, and team members to become aware of and weave the individual dynamics and personalities into a strong and thriving company culture.

At some point, we all take time to stop and reflect upon where we stand in our personal journeys. Sometimes the road ahead may seem easy, and sometimes we hit pot holes that bump us into taking action. Every person, couple, and family is unique, so my coaching is unique to each client. Together we will develop a life plan that is specific to you and your dreams.
